I’m not a therapist — I’m a trauma recovery and crisis mitigation professional who knows what it’s like to carry things no one else can see. I work with people who, like me, have spent years surviving — on the job, in their bodies, in this world.
If you’re part of the LGBTQIA+ community, a first responder, or a business leader you’ve likely been trained to keep going no matter what. What I discovered, at the intersection of these three identities, is that I didn't have to do it alone and neither do you. Through nervous system education, story work, and honest, shame-free coaching, I help you come back home to yourself — safely, slowly, and in your own time.
If you're reading this, you've probably already tried to push through it, fix it, or figure it out on your own. You’re smart. Capable. People count on you.
But still...
You’re stuck in patterns that don’t make sense
Your body feels like it’s on high alert — even when nothing’s “wrong”
You’ve done therapy, but it didn’t go deep enough
You carry memories or emotions that don’t feel like yours
You’re exhausted by always being the strong one
If that sounds like you, you’re not broken — your body’s just doing its best to keep you safe. Let’s work with it, not against it.
Turn down the volume of the survival instincts that keep you stuck
Rewire the stories and beliefs that were never yours
Understand your triggers without shame
Feel safe in your body again — maybe for the first time
Reconnect to who you are beneath the armor
I offer free 45-minute discovery calls to see if we’re a good fit. No pressure. No performance. Just space to talk about where you are and what healing might look like for you.
"Oak has a way of seeing the whole person but not telling them who to be. They let me discover for myself how I wanted to show up in this life and walked along side me as I chose my path. I have always known who I was but I never could quite live it as I wanted to - but now I am thriving and loving myself more than I thought possible."
"Oak was the first person to see me as a whole person. I am a business owner, husband, father, son and PTSD survivor. I have never been met with such safe compassion before as a man. We are too often taught to suck it up as men. Oak helped me see that having compassion for myself is not weakness. I am a better medic for my patients, husband for my wife and father for my kids now that I see where compassion impacts my life."
"Oak was a guest speaker at one of my graduate classes. Their discussion was about transgender and nonbinary people at the intersection of faith, I finally felt seen and heard sitting in that class. In the middle of our discussion about how we can support our members I came out to the class. It was scary but also safe because Oak created an environment of empathy, compassionate curiosity and genuine care."
Navigating Resilience was born from the struggle that many have with trauma. PTSD and Complex PTSD (cPTSD, C-PTSD) interrupt our ability to connect with others. While we continue to move through life, we constantly struggle to make friends, be seen, and play anything other than ‘small’ to keep the boat from rocking and people around us happy.
I am a transgender nonbinary masc presenting human who has deep connections to the community. I have also worked alongside other organizations that serve the LGBTQIA+ communities in Texas, Oklahoma and on a national level in the United States. I have been an invited speaker to the Out & Equal Workplace Conference, numerous faith based and non-profit organizations to speak on a range of topics.
I have an extensive background in emergency response and currently continue my work in EMS. My clients have included first responders from across the globe who seek to process the toughest calls and still go home to our families to help the kids with their homework.

Session fees are $135 each, however I have a number of sliding scale openings each week and I work with clients to customize a schedule that can work with their budget - I also offer packages and specials throughout the year.
Sessions are 45 - 55 minutes and can be as frequent as you are comfortable. Most people find that weekly sessions are preferable for the first 6 weeks as we get to know each other and build trust.

That’s okay — this work takes trust. If you’re not quite ready to talk, I’d still love to offer support.
